If you want to catch a squirrel, this is the trap. Unlike the 2 door ez-set version, this one makes sure the squirrel can't get back out because the trigger it far back in the cage. The 2 door trap doesn't work because the trigger is too close to the doors. I put this thing out and less than 5 minutes later, I hear a clank and there's a squirrel inside. Did it again the next day and less than 5 minutes later, squirrel #2 caught.

This little trap is excellent for trapping tree rats. I have four traps and use them constantly when tree rats get into our fruit trees. However, there is one caveat. We also get tree squirrels and they are large enough and strong enough to damage these small traps. It's difficult to keep the squirrels out. So I'm hoping Havahart will reinforce this trap around the door.

Worked perfectly.I had two pesky chipmunks kept tunneling into my fenced in garden. Used peanuts as bait and caught one the first day and the second the next. They now live in the woods behind a cemetary far from here! No problems since.

my 0745 small live catch arrived today. The trigger plate was very stiff I wasn't impressed as it was to me pretty obvious it would not work properly. I was not impressed with the advice given add pebbles or washers that could help, but should be step 2.Step 1 is make sure it works properly. There is a cause and effect to things. If the problem is the trigger plate is binding thats the problem that needs to be repaired first My trigger plate has two cut outs on each end of the trigger plate for the wire loops that hold the trigger bar they weren't centered and were rubbing the trigger plate. I was able to bend things in place The answer is Quality control it is not the Customers fault. Maybe if we all kept returning faulty ones they would do the Right thing

Squirrels outsmart this one consistently. They are smart enough to slightly depress the the tab at the top of the trap door which then raises the door slightly. Which is all they need to open it and escape. It seems to work fine with chipmunks. But not with the squirrels.

Had a lot of trouble with chipmunks eating bait out of the larger Have-a Heart which was set to catch a woodchuck, so I had to get rid of these pests. Worked great.

Was getting overrun with chipmunks so bought two of these. Shipping was prompt and got them a few days ago. Have caught three chipmunks so far using sunflower seeds for bait. Very impressed with design and quality of construction. Top plate makes sure upset animal can't scratch or bite while you carry trap and it triggers very easily. A well thought out and made product.

For a time I was so frustrated watching grey squirrels destroy my brand new lawn. Now I'm having a great time trapping those little buggers. Never thought it was so simple to do so with this trap, all it takes is a table spoon of fresh peanut butter and your on your way. Last fall I caught fifteen squirrels in two weeks , didn't see a single squirrel all winter. Now that spring has arrived they started to appear again, bad news for them, caught four in one week. For peace of mind, don't think twice about making a decision to buy this trap, do it and you will have a lot of happy times. Bought a second trap to cover front and back yard.

I had a problem with my chickens feed disappearing- like 30lbs in a months time. We only have 6 hens so I placed a trail cam and saw packrats. This little trap is perfect for this pest. They like my bait, jam mixed with sunflower seeds. I caught 6 packrats in ten days. Problem solved. Somewhere nearby is a tree stashed full of chicken feed !
