Corral small nuisance animals safely and humanely with this Havahart® X-Small 2-door trap. This 10 x 3 x 3-inch animal trap is best for mice, voles, and shrews and is made of sturdy, rust-resistant galvanized steel for strength and repeated use.

This X-Small 2-door animal trap has been tested in the field and designed by animal trapping experts. It's built to target and trap small animals like mice, shrews, and voles easily, as the intelligent construction ensures small animals can't outsmart or avoid it. A sensitive trip plate can successfully capture the smallest animals, and the mesh openings are small, ensuring bait isn't stolen.
Easy Operation
- Find a place for the trap in an area the animal seems to frequent, such as areas of your yard or garden they are digging up.
- Camouflage the trap slightly with surrounding debris, such as dirt, grass, leaves, or twigs.
- Place a bit of nuts or seeds around the outside of the trap to entice these small animals and encourage them to walk inside.
- Next, dig a small hole underneath the trap for placing bait. You can also place bait under the trigger. Wherever it's placed, it ensures the animal has to work harder to access the food, making it more likely they'll trip the spring mechanism.
- Set the trap with the doors open and wait to catch your critter.

This trap seems 2/3's the way built, & it's up to the buyer to finish construction. The triggering mechanism seems unfinished with one wire flattened but the other left round and bent so as just the tip of the wire is touching the flat wire, so it has an annoying hair trigger that wastes alot of time trying to get it into position without popping the trap. Set-up was frustrating, and I had to do some crimping with pliers because it was so loose and poorly put together the little wires that secure the doors would just fall out.

The trigger wires are designed to be very sensitive so the doors close quickly, but ensuring the trigger wires are properly aligned and fully seated during setup can help reduce premature triggering. Making sure the door rods are securely positioned before setting the trap can also improve stability.

Awesome trap, works very well with no malfunctions or rust at all this trap has caught so many mice and is very humane the traps 2 door system is very awesome and convenient to the mice so they dont have to work they just walk right in and pow!, i have relocated several mice from the truck to my creek great trap

this should function just like the larger Hav-a-hart traps work -[essentially not hard to figure out] as two opposing link rods Rub/seat together- and its friction contact only to set it. the "Flattened" area of both arms seat together- and the example I got- was totally missing the flattened area- of the lower arm. So indeed just about impossible to set it- granted the rods are of a small diameter- and somewhat may be hard to form a flat. ? but that is not the customers problem. in my case it was- i used hot glue tried to increase the seat area of both link arms - so did the best I could to "Fix"- what is obviously a very Crap- product- totally falls in the category of Chinese junk. If they all run like this i suggest it not even be sold- if my example was typical of this production Run- very frustrating-

I wanted to like these traps. I wanted to remove voles from my garden humanely. However these are almost impossible to set. The instructions are worthless. Unfortunately I will have to resort to mousetraps because unlike this product they actually work.

Definitely the "better mousetrap"! Bought two different types from another brand and the mice ate the bait and got out again. This one is inescapable and our little brown friends got taken from our home to a nice place in the woods a couple of miles away. Hole in the foundation found and closed and problem solved!

Bought the x small trap to get a shrew out of the house. It was caught within 30 minutes. In all fairness, we had managed to trap the shrew in a small room so it didn't need to go far to take the bait. But still, it works!! It did take me awhile to figure out how to set it. The videos online aren't helpful.

This is hands down the best trap I have ever purchased. Once one mouse has been trapped in it, often the smell of the former mouse attacks the next without any bate. I have lost count how many mice it has help me catch in my garages.

As many videos as we have watched showing how to set this trap (including one from Havahart), we cannot get it to work with both doors open. Either the instructions are not clear, or we have a trap that was not properly made.

I bought the small animal cage trap. There were no instructions on how to set it up. CAN'T FIGURE IT OUT. Is there a video. I am ready to return it to McLendon Hardware.

Turn the door locks to the open position.
Push down on the straight trigger rod to open the door.
While holding the door open, place bait on the bait pan (see back of the box or our website for bait suggestions).
Push down on the offset loop on the looped trigger rod to open both doors.
Position the flat end of the looped trigger rod under the flat end of the bait pan trigger, so that both doors are held open and the bait pan is level.
Turn the door lock knobs so that the locks rest on the doors.

I have four of these xsmall 2 door live mouse traps. But all of them are missing at least one of the bars that hold the door down. I have tried to make some, but they do not work as well. Where can I purchase replacement parts ?
