It is a very sturdy trap for up to housecat and raccoon size animals. A very large raccoon might need something bigger. Setting the trap door is simple and the release works with only light pressure. I expect this trap to last for several years and capture many unwanted animals for relocation.

This trap works extremely well! Used it to catch and relocate a bunch of nuisance squirrels from my yard..caught 5 just in the first 2 days! It is so easy to use..no fidgeting to set it, just pull the handle back on the top. I tied a peanut in the shell with a twisty tie behind the trip plate just in case the trap wasn't as sensitive. This is a very well made large trap. We had a very big and smart Raccoon that broke 2 other cages. We caught him and then he broke the cages to get out before we got to him. Had it on camera. He did not get out of this x-large strong cage! I highly recommend this one!
