This product is outstanding. Usually I don't mind squirrels in my yard, however, I found the need to acquire the trap after experiencing several squirrels on my roof attempting to gain entry into the attic through the vents. I relocated over 20 squirrels (I stopped counting there were so many) over the course of the last 6 weeks. It is a bit of a trial and "see what works" exercise, but I found peanuts placed in the rear of the trap (but not so far back that they can use their skillful claws to obtain them) and peanut butter on the far end of the trip plate works like a charm. Once they are caught I recommend place a towel or other type of cloth over the entire trap for transport to the relocation site them as the darkness the cloth provides calms them (and throw in a bunch of peanuts or nutty granola balls so they are well fed on release. I also had the same release site for all the squirrels I caught, so I kept the squirrel families together. Hopefully they will make a successful transition because they are beautiful animals (I just don't want them tenants in my attic!). Your local Fish and Wildlife Centre can also advise you on a release site and local catch and release rules specific to your area.

I bought two of these traps some years ago and they were so dysfunctional that I tossed them in the trash. The problem is that the handy dandy "easy set" either will not stay set or is set so hard that small critters don't trip it. I am a fan of HavaHart traps, have used them for many years, and am using them now. But not this easy set model. Don't wast your money on it.

Well built trap and seems durable. Very effective as well.

Simple to use, safe for user

I am completely satisfied. The cage trap is very easy to use and I captured 9 squirrels in a few days.

This is a very well designed trap with strength and ease of use except it is really too short for Squirrels, or more precisely, the TAILS of the Squirrels! Good for Chipmunks, though...Needs to be longer for Five Stars; Four stars from me.

The small trap is not big enough for larger rabbits but works fine on regular cottontails. I wrote a bad review based on the huge cottontail I saw get away. It needed a bigger trap. I still think the spring was too weak.

I bought the small trap. It has sprung twice and released a cotttontail both times. Both times all bait was eaten. Second time I saw the rabbit run away. It does not trap it allowed the rabbit to nose under the door.

Rabbits were eating the wires on our Sentra. The Havahart effectively eliminated them from the area. I like the ease of setting it.

I bought this for chipmunks that were tearing up my beds. It was way too easy to get this with this trap. Over the course of a couple of days I relocated 7 of these critters
