This product is easy to set and to release the captured squirrels.

This product is easy to set and works well. The adjustable sensitivity feature is great. The suggestions on how to introduce the trap to the squirrels was very helpful. In the first week, I caught two squirrels. This morning, I saw another squirrel on our deck and have put the trap out again to catch that one.

This is a great product - starting using it yesterday afternoon and have already captured 8 squirrels and relocated them to a nature preserve. They were creating havoc with our 20+ hanging baskets. Hopefully the relocation and using repellent spray will help with keeping our baskets intact. Thanks for a great product that’s so easy to operate.

The company is totally grand...they replaced a trap without any questions as I had it just days and lost a part on it, the little lever to hold the door shut. Immediately with no questions asked a new trap appeared from shipping and I managed to catch the little critter and re-home them! Great company!!!!! Thank you. I now own 3 different sizes of their traps.
The trap spring isn’t strong ...

The trap spring isn’t strong enough. Have set it 3 times but each time the animal escapes because the spring isn’t fast or strong enough. Very disappointed.

We’re sorry to hear about your experience with the trap. When an animal is able to escape, it’s often related to sensitivity or setup adjustments rather than the spring strength itself. Ensuring the trap is placed on a flat, stable surface and that the trigger is properly set can help improve performance.
In the as-delivered configuration, the product I received is useless. I will keep trying.

The trigger mechanism is way too senstive in the as-delivered configuration. If the trigger is set before placing, it is very difficult to set the trap down without triggering it. It is very often triggered by the squirrel sniffing around the trap before trying to enter. If the sauirrel bumps the trap slightly when entereing, it triggers way before the squirrel has gotten in far enough for the door to latch. Even small song birds are triggering it. After two weeks of use, it has only successfully caught one squirrel with multiple failures a day. I made a small temporary modification today to try to de-sensitisize the trigger.

We did want to let you know that this trap includes a sensitivity adjustment screw, which allows you to tune how easily the trigger is activated. If the trap is going off too easily, slightly adjusting this screw can help reduce sensitivity and improve performance.
For safety and reliability, we generally don’t recommend modifying the trap, as this can affect performance in unintended ways.

I had an infestation of squirrels and was at my wits end on how to get rid of them. I wound up purchasing two on February 9, and they worked so well, I ordered two more on February 18. To date, I have caught 21 squirrels, and 3 rabbits(unintentionally). I can't say enough about these traps. Excellent product.

If I could give 0 stars I would! I lost the trigger arm for my trap, and the company offers no replacement parts!! Absolutely the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced! Do not buy from this company!!! Don’t believe their response in that you can call them…the person only kept saying they don’t offer replacement parts. What a joke!

I have used the 1083 for less than a week, and have caught 5 squirrels that were raiding my bird feeders. I have 2 other Havahart traps, but this is the best design by far. Excellent product. I highly recommend it.

Love this trap. I do TNR with cats in my neighborhood. It works great! I've been using Havahart products for years. I don't trap rodents, but great for cat trapping.
