My favorite trap.

My favorite trap. I call it my Magic Trap Have used the Easy Set for many years. This style has never failed to catch our hardest ones. And being an Easy Set it is nothing to pull the handle back to set the trap rather than deal with a side hook. Would love to see Havahart make a 2-door.

Do NOT buy this trap if you are going to trap anything more than a pet. We have worked for weeks to trap an aggressive cat that took residence on our farm. We finally got him. As I was loading the cat into the car to relocate the animal, it hit the trap door hard and it opened and the cat escaped. Now that he has escaped my only alternative is to use more lethal means to take care of our problem. I am very angry and extremely disappointed in this trap design.

Thank you for sharing this feedback. We're sorry to hear about your recent experience with this trap. Once an animal has been caught, we recommend to drape a cloth or piece of burlap over the cage to keep the cat calm. Reach out to us directly for additional trapping tips.
Caught the raccoon but when ...

Caught the raccoon but when i lifted him up to put in my truck he blew the backside of the cage out and ran away, this cage is not strong enough!
Trip plate is too far forward.

I like the easy set feature but the problem is the position of the trip plate is too far forward. The bait kept getting eaten but the trap was not trading the racoon. I set up a game camera an the racoon was not pressing the trip plate. He was stopping just before the plate an extending his neck to eat the bait. The trip plate needs to be set in the middle of the trap like the 2 door trap they sell. That one always works.

Love it, Easy to operate.I ordered it because I used one like it but the other one had a door on the other end which comes in handy but otherwise works great for our animal rescue. Thanks.

Had coons getting into my sweet corn. Ordered a Havahart trap sized for coon,s possums, etc. Caught 18 coons, 3 possums, and 4 cats. Relocated all of them at a distance from my corn. Trap worked wonderfully and is no worse for wear.

These traps are great. Easy to set. Adjustable plate. Very good product.

What a great product! Had a groundhog that dug a tunnel under the house. We trapped it the first day with the Havahart. Drove it 8 miles away as we were told to do and it never came back. Unfortunately, we didn't realize she had two babies living under my house. They came out when we took their mother away and had to use the Havahart on them as well. It's so easy and so humane (although we did break up that family which we felt badly about).

I wish I could give ZERO stars
I purchased a 1092 for trapping raccoons. Over the course of 90+ days the trap has been baited every night. Most nights the bait is taken and the trap never trips.
In three months it has tripped 4 times. Once with the neighbors cat, once with a possum and twice with the raccoons I was trying to get.
I have Googled for help on how to make the trap more effective but have not come up with anything.
This is a good idea that is just not ready. The older style trap was harder to bait and set up, but it worked.
STAY AWAY FROM THE EASY SET LINE OF TRAPS

We are so sorry to hear about this Mark? When you test the trap on it's own, does the door lock shut? If it does, it could be that a larger trap is needed to ensure that the door is able to fully shut and lock.
