Chipmunks and Squirrels Could Be Causing the Problem. Here’s Our 3-Step Solution:
1
Remove Attractants & Shelter
Squirrels and chipmunks frequently visit birdfeeders. Maintain the cleanliness of your yard to avoid attracting these nearby tree-dwellers.
Clean up fallen berries, nuts, fruit, birdseed, etc.
Place bird feeders at least 15 ft from buildings so that spilled birdseed does not attract squirrels and chipmunks towards your house
Replace your birdseed with seed that squirrels and chipmunks dislike, like safflower, thistle, or nyger
2
Catch & Remove the Immediate Issue
The best way to completely remove a squirrel and/or chipmunk is by using a trap to manually relocate it. A small cage trap is best for catching squirrels and chipmunks.
Applying a powerful animal repellent will help prevent destruction to bird feeders. Spray repellent around the feeders and any other areas you want to protect.
