Squirrels and chipmunks frequently visit birdfeeders. Maintain the cleanliness of your yard to avoid attracting these nearby tree-dwellers.
- Clean up fallen berries, nuts, fruit, birdseed, etc.
- Place bird feeders at least 15 ft from buildings so that spilled birdseed does not attract squirrels and chipmunks towards your house
- Replace your birdseed with seed that squirrels and chipmunks dislike, like safflower, thistle, or nyger
