Designed for You by Trapping Professionals

The Havahart® X-Small 2-Door Live Animal Trap was designed and tested in the field by trapping professionals. This trap is built to target and trap the smallest critters with ease. Thanks to the trap's careful construction, small animals cannot outsmart this mouse trap. The trip plate is sensitive enough that even the lightest animals like voles and mice can effectively trigger the metal door closed. The mesh openings of the cage are smaller than competing traps, so these little critters cannot steal the bait.

Simple to Operate

You don't have to be an expert to use this Havahart® humane mouse trap. Its design allows trappers of all experience levels to capture, transport, and release small animals with ease.

Safe for You and the Animal

A live trap is a humane tool for eliminating these tiny varmints from your home or property, and Havahart® makes the process safe for both you and the animal.

For You: Solid doors and hand guards protect you from contact with a trapped animal.

For the Animal: A strong door lock keeps the animal safely inside the cage, while smooth, rolled internal trap edges prevent injuries during transport.

A Two-Door Trap is Effective and Versatile

This two-door live mouse trap allows you to create a clear path from one end of the cage to the other. This clear line of sight is reassuring to the animal and increases your odds of a catch. Place a two-door trap against a wall or along an animal's path in order to capture it as it travels from either direction. Or choose to set the trap with only one door open, and place it in front of an entryway to catch mice, shrews or voles as they venture inside.

Havahart® Traps are Built to Last

Havahart® builds traps with premium materials intended to endure harsh weather and unpredictable critters. This vole and mouse cage trap is made with galvanized steel for optimum resistance against rust and corrosion, ensuring many uses and a long trap life.

Havahart® X-Small 2-Door Trap is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 160.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best I've used these traps since I was a kid and 40 yrs later they're still the best

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect for small spaces. These are perfect for small places are great for tight places. The trigger mechanism is easier to set than he small 1-door traps. These will have to be used inside as I can't see chaining them down except on a light chain which would be useless. I have seen the small 1-door traps used in a documentary called Giant Rats on you-tube. I think Nature did it. I've shied away from poisons since other animals may be poisoned, too by eating the sick or dead rats. I feel like trapping for other people on an informal basis.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love Hate Relationship With This Trap I bought two of these a couple of weeks ago. The plastic traps I had been successfully using for months, for some reason, stopped holding the mice. I still can't figure out how they are able to get out after eating their treats. The Havahart has many glowing reviews on catching even these "smart" mice. I agree, I have caught several, way more than I thought were in the house to begin with, with these traps. This is the love part of my relationship with them. The hate part is setting them so that they aren't so sensitive they go off when you move them, to they are so insensitive I have had mice waltz in, eat the goodies, and walk right out. And they are difficult to put the bait in. My hand definitely sets off the trap, and the whole process of trying to set it begins again. I have to use a pair of tongs and very gently place the bait inside. So in summary, when the stars align and the gods are with me, and all works as it should, I catch these annoying but very cute little critters and take them for a ride to release them into a new life back in nature where they belong.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great deal I welcomed your special deal because I have been needing a couple more of these traps for quite a while and this was an extremely reasonable price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works! But directions hard to follow Very ez if you just use common sense. The curved bar goes down on the straight bar. Now pull out the little lever that balances food tray. Push very slightly over the curved bar and there you have it. Caught only one mouse and that seems to have been it in the house. I sealed up entry ways and Terminix got the garage and roof. So far no mice! Great product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great Worked the first night to catch a mouse and again in one night a week later. Thanks. No more glue or snap traps.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great stuff and lasts forever I am so happy with products. Trap lasts forever and rodents can't chew thru it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works perfectly I bought three of these a few weeks ago. They came ready to go. Instructions are clear. Using peanut butter, I caught a mouse on the first night. Only problem is my guilty conscience. I let the mouse go, outside in freezing weather. I feel like that is unfair, so I will wait to use the traps until the spring when the weather is warmer. I highly recommend these traps.

This trap works great, but I am wondering how far from the house should you release the mice so they do not re-enter? Last year I counted 35 that I released, so I am thinking they were coming back inside. Believe it or not, I have 3 LAZY cats.

Asked by: Sandycat
We suggest taking mice at least 2 miles, and over a barrier such as a highway or river if possible. Also, we recommend always checking with your local or state game commission prior to setting a trap to verify the local laws in your area.

Where do you put the bait

Asked by: sallyb
If setting as a two door trap, we recommend placing the bait directly on the bait pan. If using the trap as a one door trap, the bait can be placed at the back of the trap, by the closed door.
