Designed for You by Trapping Professionals
The Havahart® Extra Large 2-Door Live Animal Trap is designed by trapping experts to be the strongest, most reliable, and most durable trap of its kind. It is carefully constructed with a fine-tuned tripping mechanism that specially targets heavier critters and eliminates false triggers. Spring-loaded doors deliver effective captures that prevent escape.
Simple to Operate
You don’t have to be a pro to use this Havahart® two-door trap. Its design allows trappers of all experience levels to capture, transport, and release extra-large animals with ease. Check out our videos to learn how to use Havahart® traps.
Safe for You and the Animal
For You: A handle guard and solid doors protect you from contact with the animal, and the carrying handle allows you to hold the trap away from your body while an animal is inside.
For the Animal: Ultra-strong door locks keep the friskiest critters safely inside, and smooth edges keep the animals from injuring themselves in transport.
A Two-Door Trap is Fast and Versatile
A two-door trap allows you to create a clear path for the animal from one end of the trap to the other by setting it with both ends open. Place this extra-large two-door trap against a wall or along an animal’s path in order to capture it as it travels from either direction. With two doors open, the animal must step on the trigger plate to reach the bait and make it through to the other side, resulting in a catch.
Havahart® Means Built to Last
Havahart® builds the strongest, most durable traps with premium materials, intended to endure harsh weather and unpredictable animal behavior. Made in the USA, this trap is constructed of industrial-strength, one-piece wire mesh, which is galvanized for maximum resistance to rust and corrosion. Solid doors and steel reinforcements add to the durability of the trap, ensuring an even longer trap life.

Review RateWorking well
Delivery was fast! It's easy to set and since I'm using it to trap cats for TNR, it's working just fine. Glad I don't have armadillos where I live! ☺
Review RateVery Poor Quality
Purchased a Havahart 1045 recommended for armadillos in early February. Since then armadillos have defeated the trap by bending the doors/clips to escape on at least 4 occasions. Last night the armadillo bent both side supports on one door to almost 90 degrees. I get that the longer the animal is trapped, the more aggressive they will be, but who is going to spend all night watching a trap?!! I spoke to Customer Service and received the same response about letting the product managers know of the problem and offer to replace under warranty. Why bother replacing with the same poorly made product?!! "Havahart" for your customers and do something to fix the problem.
Review RateI am pleased with the outcome.
I have been fighting two raccoons getting into my backyard pond and eating my fish for months and months. Netting the pond didn't work, so I decided my only recourse was to trap and release. I caught the first raccoon the second night after getting the trap. The second raccoon was more wily and she was able to get the bait, spring the trap but not get caught. Finally, a week after the first capture, I was able to catch the second one by hanging the bait (peanut butter crackers) from the top and securing the trap with rocks so it couldn't be pulled over. Hopefully they are now reunited in a wooded area far away.
Review RateVery good product
I used this trap to catch feral cats for spay/neuter/ release. I had been working with an animal sanctuary using their trap with no success. Because this trap has 2 sides open, the cats were more willing to take the bait and I had great success which I never had with the old trap. I used the extra large which I felt was best for the full grown cats we were trapping. I had been attempting trapping for months with the sanctuary' s trap and actually only had to use this trap for 2 days to trap before we were able to spay/neuter/ release all the remaining feral cats.
Review RateA great trap that could be a little stronger.
An excellent trap that works very well. I have captured and relocated dozens or armadillos over the years. The only issue I have with my Havahart is that sooner or later I catch a big armadillo that is strong enough to destroy the trap by bending the door retainers or the cage itself. I have had to replace 3 traps because of this. The occasional raccoon, opossum, or neighbor's cat have been safely captured unharmed with no impact on the trap. Mechanically, the traps are the best, but if armadillos are your target, be prepared for them to be damaged. They aren't quite strong enough for the "big ones".
Review RateTop of the line.
Great traps. The traps work great as long as you use the proper enticement for the desired animals. Caught some of my garden pests already.
Review RateArmadillo busts out
I own2 Havahart 1045’s and in 10 years have caught about 150 possum and about 15 armadillos, a few feral cats and a few raccoons. In the last 2 months an armadillo has managed to but out 4x between the 2 traps and bent and damaged both. Figuring they were compromised, I bought another 1045 about 10 days ago. I check every morning plus I have a trail camera to monitor. Last night Dec16 at 1126 pm I caught either THE Armadillo or an armadillo. It busted out at 1137pm, broke the weld on the door and bent the top of the entrance. I planned to take it back to Academy and order a 1050 through Havahart but now after reading these bad ‘Armadillo’ reviews, I think I won’t. Hey Havahart, please don’t send the nonsense that I should check the trap more. It took this one 11 minutes to but out. I have pictures with date/Times ThankyouResponse From Havahart®Jennifer : Consumer Relations Representative

Review RateReady for more armadillo control
Have caught two armadillos in three days. Picked trap up after work both times, had to leave the armadillos in trap over night. Haven't had any of the problems some of the other reviews talked about, one was a large adult male that tried the doors many times in transport. Very happy with the double door trap, just ordered two more!
Review Ratenot heavy duty as told
I bought two of the model 1050 based on what havahart sayed would trap armadillos and was heavy duty, they wont hold an armadillo at all.of course they say you should check the trap often as an excuse.i didn't plan on watching a trap all the time.they shouldn't advertise wont they wont do.and when you call they try to sell you a wal mart card what customer service never again with this companyResponse From Havahart®Lauren : Consumer Relations Representative
Thank you for taking the time to share this feedback. Our traps are made from high tensile galvanized steel. This trap has been tested to catch armadillos.
Releasing an animal as soon as possible is extremely important when trapping a live animal. A trapped animal can quickly become panicked when left in a trap for an extended period of time away from food, water, shelter, or their young.

Review RateWant old style trap with levers instead of "hook"
I have four traps of different sizes. The new design just lets the raccoons or squirrels have dinner and go back home. One trap is probably 30+ years old, two door with the levers. This works all the time! During the past 2 weeks have caught 3 woodchucks - with no bate. Just set trap at entrance and they go in. Nice! So, is there a trap available with the old style levers to set instead of the "new" hook which doesn't work for me. A small trap with the lever handle works great for squirrels - 8 so far this season.
