Havahart® X-Large 2-Door Trap Catch and relocate large animals from your property in a secure and humane way with this Havahart® X-Large 2-Door Trap. Designed by trapping professionals to prevent accidental triggers and escapes, it's best for capturing large animals, such as armadillos, bobcats, cats, groundhogs, nutria, opossums, and raccoons. It includes a sturdy handle guard that reduces the risk of you making contact with the animal, and the smooth edges inside prevent animal injury. The innovative 2-door design of this trap creates a clear, visible path for animals and increases the chance of a successful capture.
Havahart X-Large 2-Door Trap
Suitable for Large Animals
Designed by the Pros This X-Large 2-Door Trap is designed to be the sturdiest and most reliable trap of its kind, since it's made of high-quality metal materials. Its fine-tuned tripping mechanism specially targets heavier critters and eliminates the likelihood of capturing a smaller animal. The trap is also designed to be able to stand up to the pressures of securely holding larger animals.
Safe for You and the Animal For You: Solid doors and a sturdy handle guard prevent you from making contact with the animal, and the strong handle lets you hold the trap away from your body during transport. For the Animal: Reinforced, extra-strong door locks keep the animal safe inside, and smooth edges prevent accidental injury, such as cuts and scrapes.
Safe & Easy Operation
Heavy Duty Construction
Fast and Versatile 2-Door Trap Since this trap has two open doors, one at each end, it creates a clear, unobstructed path for the animal when it's placed against a wall or along where they travel, increasing the chances of a successful capture. The animal has to step on the trigger plate to reach the bait, and both doors close before they can run out the other side.
Traps that are Built to Last Proudly made in the USA from industrial-strength, galvanized wire mesh, Havahart® builds their traps with strong, premium materials that offer excellent durability and resistance to rust and corrosion. Solid doors and steel reinforcements contribute to its durability and ensure a long, useful life.

works OK, sketchy engineering By DougL

I've had a small Havahart for several years, and it's worked OK for squirrels. But I needed one for possums and raccoons. This X-Large seems to work well. The trigger plate on this larger trap is harder to push down than on the smaller trap, so if you want to get an occasional squirrel with it, it may not work. Mature raccoons, possums, and I guess small elephants will do the job. The trigger engineering on these things is a bit sketchy. You have to have them adjusted *just right* for them to work well. Takes some fiddling to do that. Note that the XL one is so long, I can barely reach the trigger tray through either opening with my arm. But of course, that means there is plenty of room for the animal. The spring-loaded doors on this large trap are pretty powerful, so if an animal gets caught with it's tail in the door, it won't be able to push it open. On the small traps, there is no spring loading for the door. The doors just fall shut and latch. If a tail is in the door, the door on the small trap won't latch, and the small animal just pushes it's way out.

ex-large review By dave

Bought the 42" dbl door trap in 1988. 80 raccoons, 120 opposums, 40 skunks, 20 fix our feral's cats, one fox, 2 coyote, all in the SF/Bay Area. However, I gave 4 star rating because old raccoons working in pairs can release a trapped coon. The trap failed for the reason it was purchased, a chupacabra was killing EVERYTHING in Pt Richmond Ca. from 1987-1993. It was aggressive w/me as well and was too fast to shoot. When it hit the trap at 3 am the trap was jumping off the ground. At 6 am the trap was empty,, the door locks bent at 90 degrees. I estimate that 300 pounds of pressure was needed to bend those bars. The chupa only weighs about 12 pounds but he is as strong as me. Nature has no reason to produce an animal like the chupa. Chupa will not touch single door traps. It never entered the dbl-door again after it's escape. This is the only trap it has ever entered, it just was not strong enough to hold it

Great trap--but some ground hogs prefer bird seed over cantaloupe! By Hog mover

I had to get rid of a ground hog on my city property which has some denser foliage which apparently attracted it. How they can get into an urban area is beyond me! After research I bought this trap and followed the directions using cantaloupe--which for three days the animal completely ignored (I used gloves, etc.). Then I baited it with bird seed, which I had observed it eating. Checked it after dinner, and behold--captured ground hog! What a relief. I released it in an area where it will be far away from other houses and where I had seen ground hogs before. Good product! But apparently not all ground hogs care about cantaloupe, so FYI.

Trash Pandas- 0 VS Moe-10 By Moe

Great Trap! At first it was trial and error. A little adjustment of the trigger plate release to reduce the sensitivity coupled with the proper bait was all that was needed to catch ten hefty size racoons "trash pandas" and the battle continues. These trash pandas were terrorising us and the neighbours, peeling back newly shingled roofs for nesting. I have managed to reduce the numbers. I would still like to suggest that the trap be made with heavier gauge materials. I have customised my trap by fabricating and adding reinforcing materials to the cage to strengthen it. Racoons were also tipping the trap onto its side. This issue was resolved by fabricating two brackets to hold the trap into place. Moe Toronto, Canada Racoon Capital

Problem solved! By Patrick

I put the trap out around 11 am. I got back from work around 9 pm and in the trap was the groundhog feasting on my tomatoes. I relocated him about 10 miles away and have been peat free since. Best money I ever spent! Thank Havahart!

Iguanas By nick

I bought this trap for Iguana control. Iguanas are very smart animals! I have been totally inundated with Iguanas and there poop which my dumb dog loves the taste but makes him very sick. So I decided to buy a trap. I am sure that this trap WILL work great because as soon as I clicked "Purchase" they were so scared that I have not seen one since! And the trap is not been delivered yet. If you Iguanas are reading this, just you wait, I gotcha.

Working well By Sheila

Delivery was fast! It's easy to set and since I'm using it to trap cats for TNR, it's working just fine. Glad I don't have armadillos where I live! ☺
