Designed For You by Trapping Professionals
Designed and field-tested by trapping professionals, the Havahart® X-Small 1-Door Live Animal Trap is built to ensure a quick, safe trapping experience, every time. Thanks to its careful construction, it can be used as a flying squirrel trap, weasel trap, chipmunk trap or virtually any small rodent trap, because these tiny animals can't outsmart it. The trip plate is sensitive enough that even the lightest animals can effectively trigger the door closed, and the mesh openings are smaller than competing traps, so little critters cannot steal the bait.
Simple to Operate
You don't have to be a pro to use this Havahart® extra small trap. Its design allows trappers of all experience levels to capture and transport flying squirrels, weasels and other rodents with ease. And it's the only trap with a guillotine-style door, which can be lifted from the top avoiding contact with the animal.
Safe for You and the Animal
A live cage trap is a humane tool for eliminating small rodents from your home or yard, and Havahart® makes the process safe for you and the animal.
For You: A solid door and handle guard protect you from contact with a trapped animal, and the carrying handle allows you to hold the trap away from your body while an animal is inside.
For the Animal: A strong door lock keeps the animal safely inside, while smooth, rolled internal trap edges prevent injuries to animals as they are being transported or as they struggle to escape.
Havahart® Traps are Built to Last
Havahart® builds the strongest, most durable traps with premium materials, intended to endure harsh weather and unpredictable animal behavior. Traps are constructed of industrial-strength, one-piece wire mesh, which is galvanized for maximum resistance to rust and corrosion. A solid door and steel reinforcements add to the durability of the trap, ensuring an even longer trap life.

Review RateThese work like magic!
I bought the three pack of these traps. The first night I caught 2 rats. The second night I caught 4 rats (yes I actually had 2 in one trap!) the third night I caught 5 rats (3 in one trap!) So I can say without a doubt these traps work. In fact they work so well I just bought 3 more because apparently 11 rats in 3 night makes me fairly certain I do indeed have a bigger rat problem in my chicken runs than I realized.
Review Ratenot effective
whatever the critter is- it is able to get in and get peanut butter from plate without tripping the doors. I tried putting peanut butter at very end, past the bait plate but it just ate it from outside the cage.Response From Havahart®Jennifer : Consumer Relations Representative
We recommend increasing the sensitivity of the trap by adding something small to the trigger plate, such as a pebble or washer. Tying the bait from the roof of the trap above the trigger plate also works well to ensure the animal is fully inside the trap and has to maneuver on the trigger plate, increasing the chances of a catch.

Review RateI didn't use trap.
Sorry, I didn't use the trap because I got rid of the animal before it came.
Review RateHighly satisfied with the ease of use!
I had great success in removing two rats that had been decimating everything in the garage! Stored Christmas decorations had all Styrofoam eaten... they even chewed through two ice chests to get to the Styrofoam insulation! What's up with Styrofoam??? Anyway... it only took 2 nights to catch the two rats. (I released them near a stream filled with berry bushes).
Review Ratepoor product
Door won't stay up. Used to have a two door trap that worked great. This one falls down on its own, if you can even get it to stay up at all.Response From Havahart®Jennifer : Consumer Relations Representative

Review RateExcellent product.
I caught the rat that had been living in my garage for over a month the very first night I set the trap.
Review RateEffective but expensive
We've had the trap for a little over a week, and it's captured about 10 rats. It's working really well. I think it's a bit pricey because after shipping is added, the one trap came close to $50.
Review RateWorked for flying squirrels
Had flying squirrels in attic. Tried a larger trap I already owned, but these little critters were too small and lightweight to tip the trigger plate. Ordered two of the X-small 1-door traps from Havahart. Worked like a charm. Caught two on the first night and a third on the second night. No more critters in the attic.
Review RateGreat strong trap, works for rats.
I first purchased the 1020 trap to catch the rats that have been plaguing me, but it was too small and the latch mechanism was just bad. So I got a 0745 X-SMALL trap and have caught 3 rats in the past week. I also caught a squirrel and two birds as a side effect - not that I wanted that but it works really well. I am most impressed with the sturdy construction. I had three raccoons try to break into the cage when it trapped a rat, and they could not open or break it after 2 hours of trying - even though they tumbled and dragged the cage 10 meters away. Rat survived fortunately.
Just to be fair I did finally get the little sucker. The trap works. It takes some finageling to get the least resistance on the mechanismso it springs easily but that is the learning curve. I'm going to bump the rating up a couple more stars.
