I had to return as the setting arm was too short and I could not get the door to latch to trap. A representative worked with me over the phone but I could see the side arm was too short. I will only buy now when i can test them.Response From Havahart®Lauren : Consumer Relations Representative

Review RateNot a product I can recommend
I bought this trap as to help our feral rescue group, which we must run on a shoestring. Having trapped feral and abandoned cats and kittens for 15 years, my partners and I found this trap to be poorly designed to the point that it is not functional due to poor reliability. [Disclosure: several of us are engineers, and the trap is set up properly, per instructions.] The trip plate often slips after being set (so that it doesn't trip), and we found it takes a much stronger force than the weight of a stray cat to trip the plate when it is properly set. We wasted many precious hours and lost at least one pregnant queen due to the poor design and construction of this trap. It must be noted that the cut metal ends of the frame are sharp and catch on material as well. The trap end is also not square - meaning that the angles are not right angles, and the end flap does not fit well. We have had to purchase a replacement trap from a different vendor - with funds that could have gone towards TNR. Extremely disappointing.Response From Havahart®Lauren : Consumer Relations Representative

Review RateCheap piece of garbage compared to what they produced in the past.
I purchased this through Amazon. It was much more cheaply made than the Havahart traps I purchased in the past. I correctly assembled it with all reinforcing rods in place. A feral cat forced his way through the back panel and floor of the trap today. This cat needed medical attention because of wounds it had sustained, and this trap may have cost him his life. NOT HAPPY and will never buy another Havahart.Response From Havahart®Patty : Consumer Relations Representative

Review RateHas not workedMy outdoor cat will not go near the trap. We need to catch her because we will be moving and don't want to leave her. She is afraid of us and will not let us near her. We were able to trap her 5 years ago when she came into our yard, to have her spayed. Maybe she remembers that.Response From Havahart®Lauren : Consumer Relations RepresentativeHello Louisa,
A shiny new trap may be off-putting to wary animals. When setting a trap, we recommend camouflaging it with mud, sticks, leaves and anything else that naturally occurs in the area where it will be set. We would also recommend keeping the door tied open with the trap unset for a few days so the cat can get food from the trap and become used to it.
We hope that this information is helpful. Please feel free to contact our Consumer Relations Team at 1-855-5-HAVAHART (1-855-542-8242) with any additional questions.
Review RateCheaply made. Basically Useless
You asked for a review so here it is. I can't use these traps. I would give them I minus 2 stars if I could. They are so flimsy that they shake and rattle the moment the cat touches them thus scaring the cat away. Even without that problem, there is no way to quickly open the rear door in the event one catches a critter other than a cat. The only reason I don't return them is that it would cost me $55 to ship. An expensive mistake on my part.
