Designed for You by Trapping Professionals

The Havahart® X-Small 2-Door Live Animal Trap was designed and tested in the field by trapping professionals. This trap is built to target and trap the smallest critters with ease. Thanks to the trap's careful construction, small animals cannot outsmart this mouse trap. The trip plate is sensitive enough that even the lightest animals like voles and mice can effectively trigger the metal door closed. The mesh openings of the cage are smaller than competing traps, so these little critters cannot steal the bait.

Simple to Operate

You don't have to be an expert to use this Havahart® humane mouse trap. Its design allows trappers of all experience levels to capture, transport, and release small animals with ease.

Safe for You and the Animal

A live trap is a humane tool for eliminating these tiny varmints from your home or property, and Havahart® makes the process safe for both you and the animal.

For You: Solid doors and hand guards protect you from contact with a trapped animal.

For the Animal: A strong door lock keeps the animal safely inside the cage, while smooth, rolled internal trap edges prevent injuries during transport.

A Two-Door Trap is Effective and Versatile

This two-door live mouse trap allows you to create a clear path from one end of the cage to the other. This clear line of sight is reassuring to the animal and increases your odds of a catch. Place a two-door trap against a wall or along an animal's path in order to capture it as it travels from either direction. Or choose to set the trap with only one door open, and place it in front of an entryway to catch mice, shrews or voles as they venture inside.

Havahart® Traps are Built to Last

Havahart® builds traps with premium materials intended to endure harsh weather and unpredictable critters. This vole and mouse cage trap is made with galvanized steel for optimum resistance against rust and corrosion, ensuring many uses and a long trap life.

Great product By Suma

These really work! We catch the mice, who are not harmed. Once you get the knack of setting them, they are easy to use. And the company is very helpful.

Caught my elusive mouse after everything else failed. By Mark

I have had a mouse in my house for several weeks.I tried regular mouse traps ,new mouse traps, bait poison , and sticky pads.We found mouse droppings munched food, and a nest.I finally placed a camera near some peanut butter and chocolate and caught the mouse snacking. After purchasing a X-small 2-door trap I placed the peanut butter on one end that I left closed and caught the mouse within a few days.My wife is very pleased with me!

Great way to catch mice without hurting them. By indnajns

Fantastic trap. I've got the 1020 and have used it for years now. I had to learn the best way to set it ... only use one door, but that's fine. Seems if I set both doors, the mouse would manage to escape. So, I set one door (one side is easier to set than the other), put the peanut butter on the far side of the trip tray, and am pretty much guaranteed to catch a mouse. In fact, one morning I woke to a whole family! Turned out I had caught a pregnant female who gave birth while in the trap. Took them all to the abandoned house across the way (which was probably why I had so many mice to begin with) and let them get on with their lives -- out of my life.

Mr Jingles By Daniel

Caught the mouse in the garage with a small Havahart Trap. That is why they call it Havahart. I don't like killing living creatures. I have the title guy as a pet. He loves his free food and water. And his enclosed sleeping quarters (a small box with soft tissues)........

Amazing and effective By Al

First time I have ever used a trap and cannot be happier with the results! I bought 2 1020 xsmall traps to catch some pesky field mice, in one night I caught 8 And 2 flying squirrels! Traps are easy to set once you get the hang of it. Watching the instructional video also helped. The traps are sensitive however, you can shift the placement of the trey and door levers (slightly offset them on the flat part) to make the trap even more sensitive. Great product, will not but from another brand.

Tips on using these traps By Lynn B.

These are excruciatingly difficult to set. The problem is that in the SIX that I have, the bait pan rod does NOT have a flat side, as it is supposed to. Unlike other Havahart traps, these are made in China, so I think that introduces a problem of quality control. I plan to take a rotary tool with grinding tip to the rods to create flat spots. That said, I caught four mice in 4 days at first. Someone complained about access to the bait pan. I use a plastic knife with peanut butter on the tip, and press it into the notch on the pan.

Response From Havahart®
Patty : Consumer Relations Representative

We appreciate the feedback, Lynn. The trigger rods on this trap are not designed with flat spots, and we do not recommend making modifications as this could affect the sensitivity needed to catch mice, shrews, and voles. Feel free to contact our Consumer Relations Team at 1-855-5-HAVAHART (1-855-542-8242) for any assistance needed.

Works every time. By Ben

Snap traps weren't working - tiny field mice eat the bait without triggering the snap. But the Havahart works every time. It's amazing how dumb these little critters are - even after seeing their friend inside the trap, they come right back after it's cleaned and rebaited and get caught themselves. It's sensitive enough that even a gust to wind is enough to trip it, so the tiniest of animals set it off. I've had the same success with the squirrel-sized model (82519).

The BEST! By Urbangardens

These are the BEST traps for Mice. Placed along walls, the mice walk right into them, unknowingly. No messy bait required which precludes any ant issues. Setting was a bit of a learning curve, but once I got the feel for it it, it is no longer is a problem. I am giving this trap 4 stars as Quality control could be better. Often times we need to flatten the bait pin trigger. Once that is done, these traps work like a charm.

Nice idea, but not for my mutant mice By Dismas

Algernon has outsmarted all of us. Eat crumbs right up to trap and don't go in. They are on to us.

Q.Can a 2 door trap be used as a 1 trap also?

Yes, a two door trap can also be set with only one door open.

Q.I have a one acre property and last year lost many plants to a very significant infestation of voles, which worsened after the death of our dog. I garden about 1/3 of the property. How many traps do you recommend for that area? Also, do these sit above ground or are they laid into the ground where the voles tunnel? Thank you in advance for your help

These traps need to be on the ground or else they would not trigger properly. How many to buy would be at the buyer's discretion, depending on how many voles there are and how many you would like to trap at a time.

Q.I am dealing with voles in my garden. Where should I place the traps? Near a tunnel hole? In the general area? Everywhere? Help!

Traps should be placed directly in line with surface runways. Voles are predictable and typically only travel along established runways within their small range, so placing your traps here will give you the greatest chance of catching them.
