Apply Sweeney’s® Solar Powered Sonic Spikes™ for low-maintenance, season-long protection against moles and gophers. When placed into the ground and activated, these waterproof spikes use the sun’s energy to emit high-pitched ultrasonic sound waves that only moles and rodents can hear. Easy to Install and Low-Maintenance

Sweeney’s@ Solar Powered Sonic Spikes™ each have a solar panel, which eliminates the need to install or replace batteries. Simply dig a starter hole, then gently press the spike into the ground. Insert it until the bottom of the spike head begins to touch the ground in order to prevent tripping or running over it with a lawnmower. Slide the switch to “ON” to activate. The spikes must be used continuously for 7-14 days before successfully driving rodents out of the area. Remove spikes before ground freezes.

One Solar Powered Sonic Spike™ protects up to 7,500 sq ft

Does the solar powered mole repellent negatively impact cats?

Asked by: catlady
This spike emits a sound that penetrates the soil which is irritating to moles and gophers. Any sound audible above ground would be muffled and should not bother a cat.

My yard is large .75 acres.  I'm worried the spikes will just chase them to another part of it. Should I buy 2 and position them so to push the moles off the property?

Asked by: cjflaum
Multiple spikes may be needed to ensure the moles or gophers do not move to an unprotected area of the yard.

How do Sweeney’s® Solar Powered Sonic Spikes™ Work?

Asked by: Cathy
When inserted into the ground, Sweeney’s® Solar Powered Sonic Spikes™ emit sonic pulses penetrating the soil, which irritate moles and gophers, driving them away. Many burrowing animals, like moles, have extremely sensitive hearing, so while you might not hear the sound, it’s enough to make moles, gophers and other burrowing animals want to find a new residence. These spikes are powered by the sun, so they don’t require any batteries.

How do I use Sweeney’s® Solar Powered Sonic Spikes™?

Asked by: Cathy
Use a metal or steel rod to create a starter hole in the ground where you will place the spike (each spike covers up to 7,500 sq. feet), and press the spike all the way into the ground. Avoid using a hammer. Be sure to insert the spike all the way into the ground so that the top of the solar panel is flush with the ground, to avoid a tripping hazard or hitting it with a lawnmower. Be sure to remove the spike when flooding may occur or before the ground freezes.
