Havahart® two-door cage live raccoon traps have been designed with the safety of the animals in mind. These raccoon traps, with two spring loaded doors, have many features to allow safe, quick and easy catches.

Havahart® two-door cage traps are constructed of sturdy rust-resistant wire mesh with steel reinforcements for long life and galvanized for maximum resistance to rust and corrosion. Mesh openings are smaller than competing traps of comparable size to prevent escapes and stolen bait. Two spring-loaded doors allow animals to enter from either direction. Sensitive triggers ensure quick, secure captures that target the specific animal's size, eliminating undesired catches.

Trapping Groundhogs June 02, 2008

I live in a city suburb, and have had a groundhog in my yard for a few years. This year, she had a litter, and my next door neighbor wanted to catch and kill the lot. I was devastated. I know they are pesty, but I was quite fond of them. Well, cantaloup was evidently irresistible to these critters. I caught 5 of them (two adults and 3 babies) with 6 hours. I relocated all to the same location on a friend's property.

Works most of the time - Groundhog escaped June 01, 2008

I would recommend the updated version of this trap with the top of the trap being sheet metal. I trapped an opossum with this trap and its teeth got caught in the wire mesh on top. Also trapped a groundhog and it was able to free itself by pushing on the trapdoor with its head. Groundhogs also like bananas.
