Review RateOne door east sett squirrel trap doesn't work
One door easy trap doesn't work. Purchased this trap months ago, baiting with peanut butter on crackers and bread also with peanuts. bait is always missing and trap is still set. Borrowed the one door trap from a friend and the first week caught 2 squirrels, baiting the same.Response From Havahart®Kathryn : Consumer Relations Representative
We are sorry to hear about this experience! When bait is being stolen, we recommend increasing the sensitivity of the trap by adding weight to the trigger pan with small stones, metal washers, or magnets. We have shared your valuable comments with our Product Managers. These traps are covered by our 30-day guarantee and a 1-year replacement policy. Please contact our Consumer Relations Team at 1-855-5-HAVAHART (1-855-542-8242) for assistance.
Review RateSprings not strong enough
The springs are not strong enough for a squirrel to trip the pressure plateResponse From Havahart®Jennifer : Consumer Relations Representative
We apologize for this experience. This trap is recommended for rabbits, skunks, squirrels, and weasels. To increase the sensitivity, we recommend adding something small onto the trigger plate such as a washer or a pebble.

Review RateWhy did Havahart design a trap that can't be adjusted for weight and is set for a fairly heavy small animal?
Why did Havahart design a trap that can't be adjusted for weight and seems set for a fairly heavy small animal? The Red Squirrels in my attic walk freely in and out and take the bait without tripping the door. Adding weight to the trip plate is much easier said than done. Has Havahart tried adding pebbles and washers? Adding these is very awkward, they tend to roll and slide off the plate. And it is very hard to set the trap with weights on it.Response From Havahart®Patty : Consumer Relations Representative
We appreciate the time taken to provide this feedback and apologize for the experience.
When adding weight to the trigger pan, we recommend taping it on. A small magnet can also be used. For squirrels, which can very deftly steal bait, we recommend placing the bait under the trigger pan or in a manner that will increase the animal's interaction with that pan.

Review RateIt simply does not work!
This trap is a joke! I've seen on my Nest Cam Outdoor in at least 5 instances as the rabbit came in, ate the apple and just got out without the trap going off. Ridiculous!....I wish to return it!Response From Havahart®Susan : Consumer Relations Representative
If rabbits are taking the bait without triggering the door, we recommend adding some weight to the trigger plate. This can often be done with some small washers or pebbles.
Please keep in mind that the trap is covered by a 30 day return policy. Feel free to contact our Consumer Relations Team at 1-855-5-HAVAHART (1-855-542-8242) for additional assistance.
Set this trap under my chicken coop. Animals enter and the door closes very nicely, only the trapped animal simply noses under the door and it raises for an easy escape.Response From Havahart®Patty : Consumer Relations Representative
We are sorry to hear about this experience and would like the opportunity to learn more. This trap is recommended for use with rabbits, skunks, squirrels, and weasels, and the door should stay firmly closed. Please contact our Consumer Relations Team at 1-855-5-HAVAHART (1-855-542-8242) for additional assistance. Our traps are covered by a one year replacement warranty.
Review Ratepoorly designer trap for smaller pestsThis trap will not work on smaller squirrels, as their body mass is too light and the trigger mechanism requires too much force to activate. Squirrels go in, steal the bait, walking over the trigger, and leave. Havahart needs to either redesign this trap, or advertise that it will only work on larger squirrels.
