Review RateA great trap that could be a little stronger.
An excellent trap that works very well. I have captured and relocated dozens or armadillos over the years. The only issue I have with my Havahart is that sooner or later I catch a big armadillo that is strong enough to destroy the trap by bending the door retainers or the cage itself. I have had to replace 3 traps because of this. The occasional raccoon, opossum, or neighbor's cat have been safely captured unharmed with no impact on the trap. Mechanically, the traps are the best, but if armadillos are your target, be prepared for them to be damaged. They aren't quite strong enough for the "big ones".
Review RateWell built, does it\'s job, got my \'coon first day.Was a bit shocked at the outset, that trap is heavy (to carry it around).
But that's what you get for a sturdily built (raccoon-safe) construction.
Had my first "customer" same night, and gave her a nice new home 22 miles away....
Review RateTwice as goodFirst day I used it, I opened both ends. Baited the trap with sardines for a feral cat, the cat managed to eat the bait without tripping it. I re-baited the trap but only opened one end. Cat never went in. Was no longer hungry I guess. Tried again the 2nd day opening only one end, within 30 minutes, the cat was trapped. Hurray! The benefit of this trap is you can open only 1 end or both whichever is best for your situation. It is easy to set, not complicated at all.
