Review Ratedesign still needs tweaking
I followed instructions & tested many times to get the hang of it. I set the trap in my kitchen w/ peanut butter, both doors open. Next morning, peanut butter gone, doors shut, no mouse. Tried again & looked that morning to find the box had been moved a yard, upside down w/ lots of droppings, peanut butter gone & doors open! I really wanted this to work.Response From Havahart®Jennifer : Consumer Relations Representative
From this description, it sounds as if a larger animal was able to access the trap. We recommend anchoring the trap in place by putting something on top of it to prevent it from being moved around. Also, switching up the bait might work well to prevent the other animal from being attracted to the trap. We recommend using buttered bread, beef jerky, marshmallows, small nuts, cherry pits, chocolate or a hazelnut spread.

Review RateVery difficult to set.
The trap is too sensitive. It does not work well because the animal can eat the bait and duck out before the door closes on them.Response From Havahart®Lauren : Consumer Relations Representative
This trap is designed to be sensitive as it is intended for smaller animals such as mice, shrews, and voles. If the animals are able to steal the bait without the trap triggering, they may not be engaging the trigger plate. To prevent this type of bait theft, we recommend tying the bait to the trap or digging a small hole under the trap and placing the bait inside. This will cause the animal to work harder to access the bait and remain in the trap longer, increasing the chances of a successful catch.
The trap can also be set as a one door trap so animals have to go even further inside. We hope this information is helpful. Please contact our Consumer Relations Team at 1-855-5-HAVAHART (1-855-542-8242) with any additional questions.
Review RatetroublesI have been able to catch some mice and voles, but trap is a frustrating to set. Tiger is to sensitive for the elderly.
Review RateTrap doors close too easily...My husband and I have been on a mission to catch the countless number of chipmunks that are ravaging our yard and snatching up our bird food. We have trapped many chipmunks, but we are constantly challenged by the traps doors closing prematurely. Wish it wasn't quite so easy for the doors to close shut.
Review RateToo small to baitGood quality trap but it is too small to get a human hand into it to put the bait in place. It could use a door on top for access.
