I can't hear my unit (5150) - how do I know it is really working?

The trainer will emit an audible hum when activated. This will notify you that the unit is functioning. This audible hum is not what the pet is hearing - the sound the pet is hearing is louder.

Will the 5150 unit upset/hurt my pet?

Every dog's temperament is different, but most dogs will take this as an indication you are not pleased with their behavior, and most change the behavior.
Always couple your training with verbal commands to reinforce the training.

It says that it's waterproof on my collar- what does that mean?

The collar can be submerged in water up to 10 feet

Adjust fit of collar Trim hair or use longer probes Recharge batteries

Use short probes for short -haired dogs and longer probes for longer- or thicker -haired dogs

How does the 5125 Basic Remote Trainer work?

The Havahart® Basic Remote Trainer effectively and safely uses electrical stimulus to help train your dog. The trainer also has a Bad Tone button that can be used as a warning tone for your dog to correct behavior before receiving correction. Three levels of correction allow you choose the best training level for your dog. This trainer is also used in the 5132 Fence Free Deluxe.

What range can I use the 5125 in?

Training range is 100 yards.

How do I charge the collar and hand held transmitter for the 5125?

You may have to set the identification code for the transmitter and collar. To do this simply turn the transmitter off, and the collar on push and hold the bad tone button, while doing this push and hold the on/off button the light will light, then release the on/off button the light blinks to show the code is sending, the light on the collar blinks 4 times to show the code is received.

No synchronization of collar and transmitter is necessary to begin. Once batteries are charged and turned on, the transmitter and collar are ready to use.

How long will the batteries last for my 5125?

Under "normal" conditions a full charge will last 3 days.
