Escaped pet rats November 18, 2008

When pet rats are young and not yet used to us, they sometimes escape and hide in the house. The Havahart 1025 works very well, except when they are very tiny and won't trip the trigger. In that case, a string tied to the trigger and staffed by a quiet, watchful, pet owner, works fine.

Well, just bought this today afer noticing a hole that had appeared under the cinder blocks of our house and leading into the crawl space. We set the trap in front of the hole and blocked any access around it. We've already caught the little mouse responsible for the hole and released him about a mile away from the house in a wooded area. We have the trap reset to see if we have anymore, but we're hoping we don't. Well done, Havahart!
