Voles, also known as meadow mice, are often mistaken for the typical house mouse. Gray in color, the most notable difference is the vole's much shorter tail.

Voles cause problems to landscape, and gardens where there are thick layers of mulch.

Identify Vole Damage

The homeowner will first notice vole damage from the burrowing. Critter Library - vole eating The voles will do damage while digging for bulbs or underground food such as roots or potatoes.
